We correct calculation errors. If a figure on a page does not match the underlying government source records, send us the employer name and the number you think is wrong — we check it line by line against the source records and reply with what we find.
Each data section identifies its source and coverage period. Our methodology lists the releases and rules used to compute the figures. Include the page address, figure and period when reporting a possible error.
We do not take an accurate number down because it looks bad. Source links open the publisher’s data page; themethodology identifies local releases and calculation rules. If we computed it wrong, we fix it. If the record says what it says, it stays.
This is not a position we take against anyone in particular — it is a line we set in advance, for ourselves, so that it is not decided case by case under pressure.
